Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood is offering guests an up-close look at the intricate costume design and character artistry behind Mortal Kombat with a striking, new exhibit at Stage 48: From Script to Screen.

Mortal Kombat II (2026) expands the franchise’s cinematic world through grounded realism and game-accurate intensity, with director Simon McQuoid emphasizing large-scale tournament storytelling and immersive realm-building. Costume designer Cappi Ireland brought the iconic characters to life by blending practical armor, layered textiles, and functional materials, ensuring each design could support intense fight choreography while remaining faithful to the games.

The collaboration across costume, stunt, and visual effects teams resulted in distinct visual identities for each realm—Earthrealm’s grounded tactical realism, Outworld’s formidable armor, and Edenia’s intricate elegance—striking a balance between authenticity, performance, and cinematic scale within the brutal world of Mortal Kombat.

The display features a lineup of detailed costumes worn by fan-favorite characters, presented against a dramatic backdrop of character portraits and atmospheric lighting. From the armored, battle-ready look of Scorpion, worn by Hiroyuki Sanada, and the traditional layered robes and hat worn by Tadanobu Asano portraying Lord Raiden, to the regal, imposing presence of Shao Kahn, played by Martyn Ford, each piece highlights the craftsmanship and storytelling that bring the Mortal Kombat universe to life on screen.

The exhibit also showcases a variety of character looks, including Liu Kang’s signature red ensemble, worn by Ludi Lin, and Johnny Cage’s modern streetwear-inspired outfit, portrayed by Karl Urban, demonstrating the diverse visual identities across the franchise. On the opposite side, costumes representing Kitana, played by Adeline Rudolph, and Jade, played by Tati Gabrielle, further highlight the blend of elegance and combat-ready design central to the series.

The Mortal Kombat exhibit is open to Studio Tour guests.
