Celebrating Black Excellence in honor of Black History Month

Posted in Exhibits on 02/1/2024

February marks the start of Black History Month, a time to celebrate the artistic expressions and cultural contributions made by African Americans.  Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood celebrates Black Excellence in storytelling by showcasing costumes in a new exhibit at Stage 48: Script to Screen, part of all studio tours.  The new feature highlights stunning costumes from the award-winning Abbott Elementary, including costumes worn by Quinta Brunson as Janine Teagues, Sheryl Lee Ralph as Barbara Howard, Janelle James as Ava Coleman, Tyler James Williams as Gregory Eddie, and William Stanford Davis as Mr. Johnson.  Also featured in the new exhibit from The Color Purple, released in 2023, are costumes worn by Fantasia Barrino as Celie, Taraji P. Henson as Shug Avery, and Danielle Brooks as Sofia.  Tour guests will all see costumes worn by Issa Rae as President Barbie from Barbie, Regina King as Angela Abar/Sister Night from the TV show Watchmen, and Aldis Hodge as Carter Hall/Hawkman from Black Adam.

Tour guests can also pose in front of the “Tune Squad” basketball uniform costumes worn by Michael Jordan and LeBron James from Space Jam and Space Jam: A New Legacy Space Jam.

Experience the magic of Hollywood, go behind the lens, and see where your favorite movies and TV shows were made.  Get closer to the entertainment you love only on tour at Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood.  Book your tickets today.
